Analogue has announced Analogue’s latest N64 console. This isn’t emulating, it is playing the original game cartridges and upscaling the graphics by boosting them to 4K resolution (which is 10x the original resolution of N64.)

This is region-free, which has Bluetooth LE, Dualband Wi-Fi, and four original controller ports, and also a new operating system that will allow you to save states, screenshots, and all that good modern stuff. Several different display modes are available that can mimic the original look of the console if you prefer that.

Analogue has collaborated with 8BitDo to make a new wireless controller known as the 8BitDo 64. It comes with six buttons, all-effect-joy-sticks, and vibration. This also works with Nintendo Switch, Windows, and Android.

Analogue 3D and the 8BitDo 64 come in black and white. Pre-orders will be available for preorder on Oct 21st, 8 am PDT. this will be shipped in early 2025. The Aanlaogue 3D will cost $249.99 USD (~$374 AUD) whereas the cost of 8BitDo 64 will be $39.99 USD ( ~$59 AUD).

The Analogue brand is popular among classic game aficionados because they have made versions such as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Sega Genesis. Anyhow, Analogue 3D is the first attempt at making a console for the N64 generation.

This latest console is beyond the pretty box. It employs FGPA technology to regenerate the N64 hardware. This ensures that the game will work similarly they did on the original system with better graphics. The Analogue 3D is compatible with Bluetooth controllers and features its own operating system.

Analogue gained attention for its meticulous approach to creating hardware for old video games, and its new product, the Analogue 3D, continues this tradition. They want the Analogue 3D to be able to play every game made for the N64, just like the original console. This shows its dedication to even the minor details, like how the games look and feel.

To ensure everything runs perfectly, Analogue employs advanced technology known as FGPA, which helps them regenerate the graphics which is the same as the original N64. This ensures pixel-perfect accuracy and lag-free gameplay. Attaining this level of accuracy is intricate and time-consuming, but Analogue is dedicated to ensuring everything is just perfect. They are willing to take time as they don’t want to compromise on quality.
