Apple Vision Consumer Model Is Coming Next Year

Apple is all set to launch its mixed-reality headset (Apple Vision Consumer Model), following the release of Apple Vison Pro earlier this year. The headset, reportedly to be launched in 2025, aims to share digital and real-world experiences with a wider range of consumers. The headset which is considered Apple Vison Pro 2 will be priced at around $2000 which is comparatively less than Apple Vision Pro which is worth $3500.

Apple to launch a new era of mixed reality in 2025

Amidst the release of Apple Vision Pro, which is struggling to make a sale of $500,00 this year (according to reports from market tracker IDC), Apple is working on another mixed reality product to expand its product line. Though the Vision Pro was not a hit, Apple expects much more acceptability for their next launching product, the mixed reality headset Apple Vision Pro 2 with a price of around $2000.

The lower price range set aims to attract people who are interested in mixed reality but stepped back due to the high price of Vision Pro. According to reports, to reduce the price, Apple is likely to use a less powerful processor, lower resolution display, and comparatively cheaper material than Vision Pro.

The eyesight feature which was one of the embarking features of Vison Pro, that displays the user’s eyes to the outside world will be excluded from the mixed reality headset.

Though the price of the headset is less than the Vision Pro, it is not as affordable as Meta Quest 3, with a price four times less than the Vision Pro 2 headset. Apple is aiming to solidify its footprints in the mixed-reality market by reducing prices without compromising much on quality.

According to reports Apple is trying possibilities to beat the popularity of Meta, by exploring the opportunities to launch smart glasses similar to Meta’s Rayban collaboration. By 2027, Apple plans to imprint its footsteps in the smart home market by launching an ‘affordable iPad-like screen’ for home use including watching TV, calling through Facetime, managing apps, etc.

Will Apple beat Meta’s intimidating headstarts?

Meta offers products in a lesser price range with comparatively good quality attracting customers. The innovative features applied in Meta are soon to be introduced in Apple, but Meta may rise far by then. However, Apple poses some advantages and gains market value.

The privacy offered by Apple is unmatchable and is one of the main reasons for an increase in sales, and the base of revenue for Apple is $400 billion a year which is much higher than Meta ($134 billion).

Final Thoughts

The first-generation Apple Vision model didn’t meet expectations, however, the Vision Pro 2 has much potential to mark a new era in mixed reality. The yet-to-launch product comes with a lower price range, making it more affordable than the first-generation model. The integration with Apple Intelligence and the use of the next Apple chipset brings new life into the vision of spatial computing.
