Apple Watch Ultra 2 vs Garmin Epix 2 VO2 Max: Which Is Best?

By Mark McDonnell

Apple Watch Ultra 2 vs. Garmin Epix 2

Apple Watch Ultra 2 is one of the latest releases of Apple Inc. This watch just weighs 61.4g and fits on the wrists perfectly. This model comes with a variety of hardware and buttons like a microphone, speaker, digital crown, and a customizable action button. I don’t think I have to talk about its working as users may be praising about it enough. The electric heart sensor and the third-generation optical heart sensor help the user get close to accurate results when they exercise which helps them stay in check.

Garmin Epix 2 VO2 Max is a watch that is mainly built to feature a user’s physical health and track their training. It helps check the stamina of a user in real-time using your heart rate and other data. This device also uses other health metrics to help maximize the efficiency of training and recovery. Users could even view animated workouts for almost all types of workouts including cardio, strength training, pilates, etc.

Let’s do a deep comparison between the two devices and see which one is better in terms of features and performance!

As we see, neither of these watches is cheap. Both devices are known for their bold displays. Design-wise, thinking Apple Watch Ultra is very similar to its previous model. Realistically, the only difference between the Apple Watch Ultra with its previous model is that this new version claims to be 25% more efficient and 30% faster GPU animations.

The Garmin Epix 2 and Epix Pro have lots of differences in both models; Even physically, the number of buttons in both models is different. Both models are aimed at workouts and training, the storage of each model could track and save your progress. The buttons could even work with sweaty hands or even while wearing gloves.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a compass widget, that is, an ability to drop a waypoint and the backtrack feature. This helps you navigate back to a point. This device, however, does not have a built-in map. Garmin Epix 2 does have this feature. It could even access maps without third-party apps.

Talking about women’s health tracking, both watches use body temperature to track menstrual cycles. Apple integrated with natural cycles recently allowing the app to use skin temperature readings on the Apple Watch to predict infertile and fertile days. Garmin watches also have this feature along with allowing the user to pause the current training status and track pregnancy from the wrist; this feature isn’t there in Apple.

In all aspects, I would consider Garmin Epix a winner as it goes above and beyond in terms of features, be it battery or interface. Even though both look beautiful on the wrist, for the price worth, users tend to look at features better than the physical look.
