The National Cyber Security Centre(NCSC) of The United Kingdom has instructed Black Friday shoppers to be vigilant against online scammers. The cyber security agency from the UK has published new figures associated the online crimes . And it was around £11.5 million was lost to online scammers during the festival period of the previous year. The National Cyber Security Centre has organized countrywide programs to fight against all the possible online scams in the country.

The National Cyber Security Centre(NCSC) released a warning message to the black friday shoppers to stay away from online scammers. Apart from this, they also encouraged people to enable the required additional privacy measurements to be free from online scams. 

The UK’s cyber security agency declared that a significant amount hike is present in the festive period . According to their data, more than £11.5 was lost to the hands of online scammers in last year’s festive period. The National Cyber Security Centre has announced that when compared to the previous year’s data, financial losses in the festive seasons had risen and reached £1 million. The loss from the online scams in the previous year’s festive season was £10.6 and it has now reached £11.5.

The cyber security agency in the UK initiated a nationwide campaign to motivate and encourage shoppers to set up two-step verification services for their accounts. This can provide an additional layer of protection and security to the shoppers. The National Cyber Security Centre claims that online scammers will not be able to access the user’s account even if they know your passwords and security codes. The campaign organized by The National Cyber Security Centre called ‘Stop! Think Fraud’ was to equip the users with the importance of two-step verification on their most important accounts.

According to the official news release of the National Cyber Security Center, if a user has seen anything that doesn’t feel right, they need to stop that action immediately. And NCSC warns the users to break the contact and not to click on any links that feel suspicious. Another key instruction forwarded by the National Cyber Security Center is to research the company or seller by summarizing the reviews from authentic review sites.
