Darveen’s RTC-I116 Super Durable Rugged Tablet for Field Workers in the Market

By Mark McDonnell

Darveen Co. Ltd has unveiled its new RTC-I116 rugged tablet. The 2007-established company which specializes in developing rugged industrial computer solutions announced the release of its sleek Windows 10/11 tablet today. The highlight of the device is its extremely thin build with just 20mm (0.79 inches) thickness compared to the 23mm of the previous model RTC-I81. This model caters especially to field professionals who work in challenging environments.

The RTC-I116 Windows Rugged Tablet is powered by a high-performance 12th gen Intel® Core™ i7/i5 processor assuring high performance for processing huge amounts of data and image and video files. It features an 11.6-inch touchscreen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The high-brightness 1,000 nits luminance display makes reading in direct sunlight easy. The tablet also supports active pen touch.

Darveen’s RTC-I116 rugged tablet sports unique features like a high capacity 7.7V 58Whr dual hot-swappable battery design to control power switching between batteries. These replaceable batteries feature hot-swapping technology that allows the battery to be instantly disconnected and reconnected without losing power or the device shutting down. This is again a great option for field workers who would be out on duty for continuous hours and need long battery life. They can switch batteries in the field where there is likely no option to plug in the phone for recharging. To optimize this feature the rugged tablet comes with a battery indicator to let the user know if the secondary charged battery has been connected. Each batter has a life of up to 6 hours.

RTC-I116 has a memory of 16 GB LPDDR5 which can be optionally increased up to 32 GB, and a 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD storage that can be expanded up to 1 TB. It also features an integrated 1D/2D barcode reader, NFC, and RFID reader apart from a fingerprint scanner. The Windows Hello authentication through fingerprint and front camera ensures high security.

Rugged tablets are specially designed for durability and withstanding extreme conditions. The G+G capacitive multi-touch screen of RTC-I116 with durable gorilla glass of hardness 7h screen comes with support for rain and gloves with field workers in mind. To ensure resilience the developers have made sure that it passed military-grade MIL-STD-810H standards. It holds an IP66 rating, capable of withstanding water, dust, and drops, which further testifies to this. The RTC-I116 rugged tablet can withstand falls from a height of 4 feet or 1.2 meters and survive extreme temperatures from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F).

Darveen’s RTC-I116 model is curated for enhanced connectivity. It is equipped with built-in 5G, 4G, Intel® Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth V5.3 high-speed wireless technologies that will enable fast and seamless data transmission in real-time.  Other features include Rich I/O interfaces including an optional RS-232/422/485, RJ45 Ethernet, USB, and HDMI. Sensor technologies include G-sensors, Light sensors, and gyroscopes. It features a 1x power key, 1x volume+, 1x volume -, 1x Windows key, and 4x function keys (P1, P2, P3, P4). The tablet supports two USB ports: 1x Type-C which supports power charging and data transfer and 2x Type-A USB 3.0 ports. 8Ω/2W dual stereo speakers and dual microphone facilitate optimized audio input and output.

Darveen’s RTC-I116 Rugged Tablet is the ultimate tablet for field workers due to its high performance, extended battery life, durability, and protection from extreme environmental conditions and temperatures. The sleek modern design and thin build serve to enhance portability while contributing to its visual appeal.
