Entry-Level iPad to Get Apple Intelligence by Late 2025

Apple’s most affordable iPad model to receive Apple Intelligence features by late 2025. The update comes after a substantial uncertainty since the last iPad refresh in 2022.

Apple’s budget-friendly iPad is expected to get an Apple Intelligence capability by the end of 2025. The update enhances the chance of integrating AI features across all Apple devices. According to technology journalist Mark Gurman, nearly all Apple devices with a screen will support Apple Intelligence by 2026.

The time set indicates a significant delay since the last update in October 2022. The technical requirements of incorporating artificial intelligence within a budget limit may be the reason for the delay.

Apple has launched its latest iPad mini with Apple Intelligence last week. The 7th generation iPad mini has similar display features as its earlier version. However, uses an A17 pro chip, the same chip powering the iPhone 15 pro models.

Apple has also lowered the price of the iPad 10 models and excluded the charger with the device in Europe, all signifying a later launch of a new entry-level iPad.

The latest 10th-generation iPad has an A14 chip, the one used in the iPhone 12 versions, which is getting outdated. The ideal choice of the chip would be the A16, but considering the incorporation of artificial intelligence, an A17 pro or an A18 seems essential.

If the iPhone SE gets an update of Apple Intelligence by March 2025, the iPad would remain the only major Apple product to lack Apple Intelligence, making a 2025 refresh inevitable.

Apple is yet to launch their iOS 18.1 which introduces Apple Intelligence to the existing iPhone and iPad. At least an 8 GB RAM is required for running Apple AI. As of now, an iPhone 15 pro or above supports Apple AI features.

The 11th-generation iPad expected features

According to reports from Mark Gurman, Apple is focusing on strategies to reduce the cost of the entry-level iPad. To incorporate Apple Intelligence, a fast processor and higher storage space are required so it is likely to feature an A16 Bionic processor, 8 GB RAM, and support an Apple Pencil 2.

A 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display similar to the previous models. If the iPad 11th generation follows an upgrading journey similar to other Apple devices, we can expect an estimated storage capacity of 128 GB to 256 GB.

As Apple is planning for a budget-friendly iPad we can expect to buy the 11th generation iPad with an estimated price of around $349.

The use of a USB C port allows an upgraded speed of up to 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps As of now, there is no information on the color, however, many hope for a teal or ultramarine to match their new iPhone 16, and also purple is a major request online.

Will the iPad 11th generation be worth buying?

The 11th generation iPad will come with a fast processor, higher memory storage, USB C charging, Apple Pencil 2 generation compatibility, and the main Apple Intelligence. If these things matter to you, an iPad 11th generation will be worth buying. However, the wait seems quite long.
