In a recent speech delivered at the Global MBB Forum 2024, Huawei’s Yang Chaobin stated that the upcoming 5.5G will be able to unleash the full potential of mobile AI. Yang Chaobin, the President of ICT Products and Solutions and a Board member of Huawei, made such a statement realizing the rising growth of AI technologies which will further embrace the mobile industries and create vast opportunities for the field.
Huawei successfully hosted its 15th annual Global Mobile Broadband Forum with industry partners GSMA and GTA at the Halic Congress Center in Istanbul, Turkey. The two-day event included a series of keynote speeches made by Huawei executives and representatives from some of the leading operators. According to the inner sources, the keynote speech delivered by Yang Chaobin received immediate recognition as the topic covered the Chinese technological company planning to collaborate with other industry partners to further expand the 5.5G and foster the foundation of mobile AI. This might be an initial hint of the company moving toward enhancing the opportunities of the mobile industries using the growing AI technologies. In his speech, Yang Chaobin stated that two trends have emerged toward the concept of Mobile AI because of the evolving 5.5G and AI technologies. He refers to the first trend as “mobile going AI” to show the transformation of the mobile service by business model and new services. The second trend which he refers to as “AI going mobile” shows many business ventures are nowadays being unlocked by new mobile services like robots and smart vehicles.
As per the reports gained from the technological event, Yang Chaobin detailed and highlighted the ways Mobile AI can transform the mobile industries and society as well. In his speech, he further stated the ways the ICT industries will be influenced by the two trends in the long way. These trends will completely transform mobile internet services and soon enough each of the AI agent networks will need to support the real-time services for each service. Similarly, smart vehicle networks need to deliver some real high-speed services as the future will soon witness smart vehicle technologies transforming vehicles into smart spaces. According to the two trends identified by Yang Chaobin in his speech, it will also influence the future robotics networks to further enhance and foster the 10 billion unit AI market.
Yang Chaobin further highlighted the role of the evolving and efficient 5.5G networks in today’s world and the means it can further enhance the Mobile AI. Considering the future requirements that will come from the AI agents, smart vehicles, and embodied intelligence networks, Yang states that the evolving 5.5G networks can support the connections and experiences that can adhere to these requirements. He stated a detailed analysis of the five key areas where these requirements would be essential. The 5.5 networks supposedly will have a significant impact on these areas and will overall help in achieving the goal of an era of Mobile AI.
The technological event ran successfully for two days and Huawei also made some important announcements regarding their innovations and partnerships. Various other industry leaders and operators shared the latest innovations and developments in their specific industries. The main theme of the whole event was directed toward the future of 5.5G networks and Mobile AI and the preparations that need to be taken to welcome the new era by leading industry stakeholders. This successful event that came along with the tagline of “5.5G leads the mobile AI era” has now become a recent talk in the technological community, where various tech experts and scholars have shown their appreciation and support for the good cause from across the globe.
