Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition: Leaked Features And Launch Date

Samsung can be considered one of the bravest tech companies in the world because of its bravery in technology implementation and adaptation. The Galaxy Z  Fold 6 is the latest model in their Fold series, which attained a positive response and is considered the best foldable phone in the market.

Z Fold will give you an immense multitasking experience and the tablet screen and phone-like outside screen give you a wider multimedia consumption.

To enhance users’ experience, Samsung is planning to release a special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold in October. According to the latest news, the latest device will be thinner than the current Galaxy Z Fold 6.

FNNews has reported that the announcement of the special edition Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be on October 25, 2024. The special edition device is expected to have superior performance over the latest model. Besides that, all the Galaxy AI features are also available.

The release of the special edition of Galaxy Z Fold will most likely be an online event on October 25. The tech community is keenly interested in the event and how Samsung is going to upgrade the existing version. The release of a new foldable version will create a peak market engagement for the company.

Expected features of Galaxy Z Fold special edition

Galaxy Z Fold special edition

The reports available right now tell us that, there will be a modification in the design, thickness reduction is the important change in the special edition. Galaxy Z Fold will have 4.9mm thickness when it is unfolded and 10.6mm when it is folded. The previous Galaxy Z Fold 6 has 5.6mm and 12.1mm when it is unfolded and folded respectively.

There is a clear difference of 0.7mm when it is unfolded and 1.5mm when it is folded can be seen. This design could make the special edition version of Galaxy Z Fold, one of the slimmest foldable devices Samsung has ever produced.

According to the previously leaked image, the device might have a titanium material design on the back. But this is not confirmed yet, we can see the detailed information once it is officially released.

When it comes to the display segment, the special edition will feature an enlarged 8-inch inner display along with a 6.5-inch back screen. The existing version only has 6.3 inches of back screen and 7.6 inch inner screen. The same Dynamic AMOLED 2X display will most likely continue in the special edition as well. The S pen compatibility will be available in the special edition of Galaxy Z Fold.

The same IP48 dust and water resistance rating that is available in the current version will likely to contained in the special edition too. This could protect the device from solid objects larger than 1 millimeter and continuous immersion in water beyond 1 meter.

There are no drastic changes in the camera department from the current Galaxy Z Fold 6, apart from the primary camera upgrade. The same triple camera setup is expected to continue on the special edition as well.

The special edition will feature a 200-megapixel primary rear camera. The other cameras are the same as present in the current version which are 12MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Pre-order and release

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 special edition is most likely to be available for pre-order from October 18 to October 24. The official release date might be just after the presale ends, which could be on 25th October.

Those who are interested in experiencing the latest special foldable edition of the Samsung Galaxy Fold series can go for the presale and book before it releases. There will be a limited number of products available, so if you want it badly, don’t miss the opportunity to grab the special edition foldable.

The release event could be an online one, but there is a high chance that it comes along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit which is on the verge of taking place between October 21 and 23.

We all know that Samsung and Snapdragon have a healthy relationship, so the possible collaboration with Qualcomm and Samsung is possible. It is not official information, but as per the evaluation of tech enthusiasts and the Samsung-Qualcomm relationship, it is a viable option.

Galaxy Z Fold Special edition: Compact and thinner version of  Galaxy Z Fold 6?

Even though the company is not up to a drastic change in their current foldable model, we can see a much more compact phone since it has lesser thickness. This could be the key feature in the special edition because making a foldable device this much thinner is a challenging attempt for anyone, but Samsung is up for this challenge by doing this. So a guaranteed compact design and premium in-hand feel can be expected from the special edition.
