iPhone SE 4 is one of the most speculated iPhone launches of the first quarter release of 2025 and is expected to be a budget-friendly model with Apple features. Rumors about the phone have been stifling around for some time and tech enthusiasts are likely to find out all major details about the phone before Apple announces it officially.
A tipster called Jukanlosreve through X posted a list of features of the iPhone SE 4 and also suggested its launch in March 2025. The phone was previously reported to be launched in December this year, but the new speculations are it will only be launched next year. iPhone SE 4 will be powered by an A18 chip like the iPhone 16 models, with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB base storage.
The list says that SE 4 will have a 6.06-inch OLED display panel with a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels which is quite a great upgrade from the 4.7-inch LCD panel of the iPhone SE 3. The display was previously predicted to be like the iPhone 14 and these rumours match those predictions. It is also the first in the SE series to remove the home button and Touch ID to adopt a similar look to the latest iPhone models. The phone is also reported to weigh 21 grams heavier, 165 grams compared to the previous 144 grams.
Other display features are 460 ppi, 800 nits peak brightness, LTPS 60Hz, and M11 grade. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and UWD (U1). SE 4 has IP68-rated water and dust protection and has a Ceramic Shield like the iPhone 14 series. The phone will have a notch for Face ID and a front camera system.
The added features also suggest that SE 4 will run the most awaited Apple Intelligence like the high-end iPhones with the same chipset and RAM. It features Apple’s proprietary modem made by TSMC and codenamed Centauri will also debut on SE 4. This is one of the biggest advancements Apple has introduced in bringing an in-house modem rather than relying on external suppliers for the modem.
The rumors were set ablaze when a phone case of the yet-to-be-launched iPhone SE 4 was leaked earlier this month. The case confirms the design of the phone to be flat-edged just like other iPhones of recent years. It had a cut-out for a mute button that points to the fact that SE 4 would not have the Action Button seen on the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 series. The camera cut-out suggests it has a dual-camera system and is larger compared to the single lens in SE 3. It also suggests a horizontal camera setup similar to iPhone 7 Plus.
But the list suggests that the iPhone SE 4 will continue to have a single camera system like the SE 3 but with an upgraded sensor of 48MP from 12MP and a front camera of 12MP. An increased battery efficiency is another highlight of the list. Se 4 is rumored to have a 3279mAh battery, unlike the previous 2018mAh battery.
The screen size is also said to have increased to 6.06 inches from the previous 4.7 inches. It will support the same 20W wired charging speed as the previous SE model but will support wireless charging of 15W Qi2 and MagSafe accessories. The phone also connects to a USB-C port.
An increase in the price is also mentioned with many added features. The previous model of iPhone SE was priced at $429 and the SE 4 is expected to have a starting price of $499 or $549. All these are speculations, but are most likely to be true and should be awaited until the beginning of next year to get a confirmation from Apple’s side on the next generation iPhone SE.
