Qualcomm officially launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip last week, which is claimed to be the World’s Fastest Mobile CPU. Qualcomm’s blog post said that the leading smartphone brands, including ASUS, Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, OPPO, RealMe, Samsung, Vivo, and Xiaomi, will launch their devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip this week. Later, Xiaomi announced its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, to be the first phones to launch the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile SoC.

iQOO today on the 30th of October released the iQOO 13 with a good performance boost compared to the previous iQOO 12 and would be ideal for heavy users and gamers. Other than the major attraction of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the phone comes with iQOO’s Q2 gaming chip. It also supports VAA Anti-Flicker technology that enhances the gaming experience by reducing flickering.

The chip supports 2K PC-grade resolution scaling as stated by iQOO. The phone has a storage capacity of 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0. It also features a 7K dual-drive heat sink that keeps the phone cool by moving the excessive heat produced.

The software used is OriginOS 15 based on the Android 15 Operating System in the smartphone launched in China while the global versions said to be launching in December ship with FuntouchOS 15. The phone supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

iQOO 13 features a silicon carbon battery with a massive battery capacity of 6150mAh along with a wired fast charging capacity of 120W and claims to fully charge within 30 minutes. The phone only supports wired charging and does not have wireless charging.

The design of the phone is quite similar to the previous model other than the customizable light effect system called Monster Halo, around the camera module. The Monster Halo feature is an RGB-lit camera ring that has 72 different effects that can be customized. The lighting system also adapts to different gaming scenarios and makes effects like pulsing and spiraling.

It can also react to music playback, display notifications, and show charging status. The smartphone also has trendy micro-quad curved corners that look flat but have slight curves on the corners.

The iQOO 13 comes with an IP69 + IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
