Lenovo to establish its first AI innovation hub in Hong Kong

Lenovo Launches First AI Innovation Hub

The first-ever AI assistant hub to launch in Hong Kong by Lenovo in collaboration with the Bridge Foundation., Bridge Foundation is a charitable organization that has been committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the underprivileged For nearly a decade. It started out in 2015. It provides services like free development screening, therapy, and professional training. So while starting this first AI innovation hub in Hong Kong, it is safe to say that Lenovo has made the right call in the partnership.

This AI innovation hub aims to provide customized personal resources for students depending on their individual educational needs with the help of AI. Lenovo has also donated a sum of approximately $2 million Hong Kong dollars worth of application systems and services to the Aoi Pui School. The Lenovo AI hub consists of new AI hardware along with hybrid AI technology solutions like computer vision, RPA (robotic process automation), and natural language processors. 

For the launch of Hong Kong’s first Lenovo AI hub, there were many attendees, such as Ms. Lillian CHEONG, JP Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology, and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Dr. Yan Weizhi, Level 3 researcher of the Education and Technology Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government, along with Ms. Serena Cheung, General Manager of Lenovo Hong Kong, and Mr. Victor Wong, founder of the Bridge Foundation. The memorandum of cooperation was signed by Mr. Jonathan Cheng, Head of Strategy and Sales, Lenovo Hong Kong and Macau, and Dr. Bosco Chan, Director of the Bridge Foundation, aimed at providing more SEN students with high-quality, personalized education. During the launch, Serena Cheung, Lenovo’s Hong Kong general manager talked about the company’s dedication to ‘Smarter AI for All.’ and she highlighted the AI’s transformative potential, citing its widespread applications across different industries. Lenovo is utilizing this power to revolutionize education for the needy, particularly for SEN (special educational needs) students. By leveraging the use of AI assistance in learning, Lenovo aims to create a customized learning experience for each student, who can learn at their own pace and make an actual impact while learning. Cheung also shared her joy in creating this positive change and providing benefits to the community and in the education of SEN students using these AI technologies. Victor Wong, The founder of the Bridge Foundation took the stage to share his vision for the organization which is to enhance the special educational support services. He talked about the partnership with Lenovo which enables the organization to expand its comprehensive SEN expert system solution from speech therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, and educational psychologists The results of this collaboration are already visible at the Aoi Pui school and will continue to do so.
