It also comes with a customizable lock screen and Shared Widgets that allow users to stay on track. To update to Nothing OS 3.0, go to Settings and select System, where you will find Software Update. Before selecting it, ensure the device is connected to Wi-Fi and has sufficient battery. In case you don’t see the update, check for it manually or wait until the latest OS update is available in your region. Before you update to Nothing OS 3.0, ensure you back up your data so you don’t lose the important files and media.

Along with customization, this latest OS version comes with sharable interactions. The new update primarily focuses on launching the new native gallery app, which is expected to have innovative features including advanced search and expanded editing tools. Even though we are unaware of the full details regarding the new update, Nothing did share some information regarding it.

This new OS version is said to be released by the end of the year and in early 2025. Nothing OS 3.0 will be first available for Nothing Phone 2 and Phone 2a by the end of the year and it will further arrive for Nothing Phone 1, Nothing Phone 2a Plus, and Nothing CMF Phone 1 in early 2025. Through Shared Widgets, which are shown on the newly designed and configurable lock screen, Nothing OS 3.0 also provides a new way to communicate with friends and family. However, the Shared Widgets are only supported between Nothing devices, and only Photo Widgets (square) can be shared. The new OS version indicates enhanced productivity widgets such as the Countdown Widget that allows users to stay on track and categorize apps.

The Countdown Widget feature will be available on Google Play on the Nothing Widgets app by the end of the month.
