OnePlus is ready to launch its upcoming OnePlus 13 featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

Renowned Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus 13 powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. While not officially confirmed, it will be one of the first devices to feature the 3n-m Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.  As per the estimates, the launching event is expected to be held in China on 31st October 2024.

Earlier this month, Qualcomm streamed a teaser video cueing the arrival of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for the upcoming Snapdragon summit. In the video, a smartphone was featured as carrying the new chipset. The smartphone reportedly had similar designs and circular camera islands as the upcoming OnePlus 13. It had the signature camera module on the top-left corner which is the signature camera module of the previously released OnePlus devices. The teaser video by Qualcomm was the first to initially hint at the launching of the OnePlus 13 with the feature of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The video was reposted by Louis Lee, the President of OnePlus hinting that it will be the first device powered by the new generation of Snapdragon chipset.

According to the Digital Chat Station, the official name of the upcoming chipset is confirmed as the Snapdragon 8 Elite by Qualcomm. Based on the teaser video, the newly coming chipset will have Oryon cores. A similar structure was followed in the Snapdragon X that has previously powered the Copilot+PCs. These Oryon cores are expected to bring new improvements and maximum power efficiency to the features.

With the release of the launching date, the specifications of OnePlus have been leaked to the public audience. OnePlus 13 is expected to have a storage capacity of 24GB RAM and 1TB onboard storage space. The smartphone will come with a 6.82-inch LTPO BOE X2 micro quad display with 2K resolution and 120HZ refresh rates. These features will add up to the high-quality screen experience for the users. The camera application is said to feature a triple rear camera with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with 3x optical zooming options.

There also have been reports regarding the fresh design that the developers have adopted for their new flagship device. The OnePlus 13 differs from its predecessors like OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 12 as it has a flatter chassis similar to the iOS devices. Unlike the previous designs the camera module is now standalone and a vertical strip runs over it. The Hasselblad logo is also rearranged and placed right above the vertical strip. Another exciting news for OnePlus users around the globe is that the new edition deviates from their basic black and white color variants and has introduced a new blue shade which is going to be on the most demanded list this year. Though not yet confirmed, the blue color variant is expected to have a faux leather back panel and the black and white variants will continue to have a matte glass. The upcoming device is also said to have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics that will allow users to unlock their devices even with oily or greasy hands.

When the teaser video was released, Xiaomi 15 became the initial suspect of the technological community. The other suspects also included the Realme GT 7 Pro and iQOO 13.  As of now tech analysts and developers are eagerly waiting towards the end of the month for the launching ceremony and to get more details regarding the features offered by the OnePlus 13. The launching of the OnePlus 13 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset would mark a milestone in the history of the Chinese technological company and would also pave the way for it to become a major competitor in the market.
