Xiaomi has emerged with its latest announcement on the launch of Redmi A4 5G mobile phones at a recent event in India. Xiaomi’s latest mobile phone, A4 5G, showcased at the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024 is a budget-friendly option that aims to promote easy and improved accessibility of 5G connectivity in India.
Collaborated with Qualcomm Technologies, Xiaomi A4 5G is India’s first-ever smartphone to hold the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 platform. Along with being one of the major milestones in the Indian smartphone industry, this initiative will remain a milestone in the collaboration of both these tech giants of the world. Experts suggest that with the launch of Redmi A4 5G, the entry-level smartphone experience will be redefined as 5G connectivity gets introduced to a larger audience.
The President of Xiaomi India, Mr. Muralikrishnan B has declared that the Redmi A4 5G was designed with the Indian audience in mind. It confirms that Xiaomi is planning to expand its mission of providing innovative technology to everyone around the world.
According to experts, this mission will be a huge success in India with the launch of Redmi A4 5G as it will escalate the accessibility of 5G connectivity and advanced technology for millions under their budget. Although not specified, Xiaomi has assured that this device will be affordable and will be made available below ₹10000 in the Indian market.
While making the announcement, Muralikrishan shared that Xiaomi planned for this milestone for the Indian audience on the occasion of the successful 10-year journey in India. He added that this launch will be a milestone in the ongoing mission of Xiaomi of “Innovation for Everyone.” He also added that the emergence of Redmi A4 5G will help to bridge the digital divide in the country. Muralikrishnan shared that they are proud to drive the transformation of India to global 5G adoption with this mobile phone that offers an enhanced entry-level experience.
The Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, Savi Soin also delivered a similar statement in which he mentioned that access to 5G connectivity will be a key factor towards Viksit Bharat. He noted that he is excited and proud to be a part of this journey along with Xiaomi as they bring home affordable 5G devices.
However, Xiaomi has not shared any details or specifications of this new smartphone apart from its processor. With a design that resembles some of the latest budget devices of Redmi including Redmi A3 and A3X, it has a round camera assembly with a main camera of 50 megapixels.
The showcased model suggests that the phone likely to have a 6.7-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and refresh rate of almost 90Hz. As it holds Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset, experts comment that it may have a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging. However, as clarifications are not made from the official side, tech-savvy are awaiting further updates.
