Xbox Game Pass Upcoming Games

Just two months ahead of the close of 2024, Xbox has come out with some exciting news for aficionados of Xbox games. The announcement was made during the 2024 Xbox Partner Preview, where Microsoft unveiled its subscription service that will launch five titles next year. The event saw the showcasing of several new titles like Alan Wake 2’s The Lake House DLC, Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

The highlight was the surprise announcement of its co-operative three-player game FBC: Firebreakof by Finnish video game developer Remedy Entertainment, which has so far specialized in making single-player action games.

FBC: Firebreak, a Control Spin-off, was announced earlier in June 2021 under the name Project Condor. Its official name leaked during a trademark filing at the beginning of this year. Now, on October 17, the first official trailer of FBC: Firebreak was unveiled in Xbox Partner Preview. It will be a day-one Xbox Game Pass launch, so players won’t have to wait to start playing after its release.

The game is a cooperative first-person shooter set in the Federal Bureau of Control and will launch in 2025 for Xbox series, PlayStation, and PC through Steam and Epic Game Stores.

Game director Mike Kayatta stated in a press release that the team has been creating a gameplay-driven experience focused on cooperative gameplay incorporating the strange, surreal elements our fans have come to expect from the Control series. He further stated that Remedy Entertainment has been looking to leverage its expertise in action and world-building in a co-op multiplayer setting, creating something that new players who have not experienced their games will find attractive.

Control Franchise executive producer Juha Vainio described FBC: Firebreak as an opportunity for both new players and current fans to try something new as they wait for Control 2. He further added that although Remedy is generally known for narrative-driven experiences, FBC: Firebreak will be a chance for the team to flip the script and make an attempt at a game that focuses on high-octane action in a multiplayer setting.

Five new one-day launches were announced by Xbox, which include FC: Firebreak, Subnautica 2, Eternal Strands, Wheel World, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

FC: Firebreak: FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter set in a mysterious federal agency that is under the attack of some otherworldly monsters. Firebreak is the Bureau’s most versatile responder unit, which jumps into action to defend the siege on the agency’s headquarters that has been going on for a whole year. The key features of FBC: Firebreak include paranatural pandemonium and cooperative chaos.

Subnautica 2: Subnautica 2, developed by Unknown Worlds is a sequel to the 2018 Subnautica that players fell in love with. The game is an underwater survival adventure that can be played solo or with friends. Set in a completely new alien ocean world, it features vibrant biomes, bizarre creatures, and concealed secrets waiting to be discovered. The studio revealed that the sequel is filled with mystery and wonder.

A brand new world beckons, accompanied by a fresh narrative. As a pioneer journeying to this distant realm, you soon discover that something is not quite right. In multiplay, up to four players fight the monsters together. They can work together to craft tools and build bases for the mission. Subnautica 2 will launch via Steam Early Access, as well as through the Epic Games Store and Windows Store.

Eternal Strands: Eternal Strands, a fantasy-action adventure developed by Yellow Brick Games is the next game in line announced in the Xbox Partnership Preview and set to release in 2025 for Xbox Series X and Series S as well as PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The game’s mission is to fight a range of enemies from towering beasts to humanoid constructs as protagonist Brynn.
