Xiaomi EV unveiled its new prototype Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and completed the time lapse challenge at Nürburgring in Germany on 28th October,2024. The production version was also set to be launched later that day.
As per the challenge, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype completed a round within the circuit with a time-lapse of 6 minutes and 46.874 seconds making it the fastest four-door car on the track. The electric vehicle made a record just before the company was all set to introduce the production of the new version of Xiaomi Ev SU7.
The SUV car line was Xiaomi’s debut product of the EV industry. The launching of the new prototype was revealed months ago yet the electric car was officially released in China on 29th October 2024. The challenge completed by the new prototype has currently raised the company’s market rates by enabling it to produce a highly powered motor setup.
The Nurburgring ground covers 20.8 kilometers and has remained ultimate the testing ground for the automotive industries since 1927. Lei Jung, the Chief Executive of Xiaomi stated on Chinese social media platforms that the newest edition of the Xiaomi SUV has completed the Nurburgring testing challenge successfully with much determination as the prototype was a newcomer in the challenge.
As per the company, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is expected to target the competitive electric vehicle market with its innovative and impressive features. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is packed with a strong motor setup and comes and also contains one V6 and two V8s motors. These motors are placid across the front and rear wheels to give out excellent performance.
The motors are carefully chosen and claim to generate up to 1,548 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque. The company also assures that the electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 1000kmph in just 1.97 seconds making it one of the fastest electric cars in the world. The new SU7 Ultra features materials like performance ceramic breaks, carbon fiber, and aerodynamics for speed.
Xiaomi has brought the notice that the company prebooked the Nurburgring testing ground earlier this January for the dates October 9 and 10 but further got canceled due to the unpredictable weather conditions. It was only on October 24th, when Nurburgring confirmed that the new prototype could test driving on the ground on the 28th of October.
Nurburgring testing ground has now witnessed a record-breaking performance from the newly introduced Xiaomi SU7 Ultra with its terrific engineering and high performance. The challenge was completed by David Pittar, a British Driver and the winner of the Hours of Nurburgring 2023-2024.
This has been a huge accomplishment for Xiaomi EV and has already paved the way towards becoming a major competitor in the automotive industry. Lei Jung, CEO of Xiaomi during a presentation at a recent event displayed a comparison chart showing the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra outperforming the Porche Taycan Turbo in acceleration and high-speed specifications.
He also stated that the SU7 Ultra would be faster than the Tesla Model S Plaid. Considering these facts, the new electric car is all set to pose major challenges to some of the leading automotive industries. As per the inner sources, the company aims to deliver around 120,000 SU7 models by the end of this year, and the first deliveries for the SU7 Ultra will start in March.
The company received around 3,600 pre-orders of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra within just 10 minutes of its debut. Xiaomi has expanded its market rates with its electronics and will soon emerge as a leading producer of some of the finest electric cars in the world.
